Expressions of Interest – Committee of Management Members

Hobart Community Legal Service is calling for expressions of interest for new members of its Committee of Management.

Hobart Community Legal Service (HCLS) offers free legal information, advice and representation services to members of the community in southern Tasmania. Our purpose is to ensure easier access to a fairer and more equitable legal system.

We are independently governed by a volunteer Committee of Management which provides strategic leadership to HCLS. HCLS is looking for committee members who are committed to social justice. We are particularly interested in nominees who have knowledge or experience in the areas of finance or accounting, community sector or education. However, if you are interested and your skills lie in other areas, we would be pleased to hear from you.

The Committee meets approximately every six weeks. It would be reasonable to assume a 3- 4 hour a month commitment as a Committee Member.

As this is a voluntary committee, members are not remunerated. Out of pocket expenses related to committee activities will be paid or reimbursed.

We support a diverse and inclusive organisation and we welcome expressions of interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTIQA+, people with a disability and people of all ages.

Please send your enquiries or expressions to Lisa Free at lisa@hobartlegal.org.au outlining your interest and skills in relation to the Committee Member positions. If you have any support or access requirements we welcome you to advise us at the time of application.
